Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.

📋 Description

• Utilize appropriate analytical techniques—statistical analysis, regression, clustering, forecasting, classification—to effectively address real-world business challenges on a large scale.

• Create and implement comprehensive analytical solutions, from data extraction in BigQuery and MariaDB to generating actionable insights and automated reporting.

• Design and support data pipelines, analytical frameworks, and tools using Python and SQL.

• Employ AI-driven development tools (Windsurf, Gemini, Claude, Cursor) to expedite experimentation, code generation, and analysis.

• Take advantage of the latest AI capabilities and tools (LLMs, embeddings, generative AI) to enhance and automate analytical processes.

• Develop lightweight applications and APIs (FastAPI) to deliver models and insights to stakeholders effectively.

• Make informed decisions regarding data architecture within your area of expertise, including schema design, data modeling, and ensuring pipeline reliability.

• Articulate results, trade-offs, and recommendations clearly to both technical and business audiences.

• Analyze and enhance business processes through data-driven insights and process design.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional experience in data science, advanced analytics, or a quantitative discipline.

• Expert-level proficiency in SQL with extensive knowledge of BigQuery and MariaDB or comparable data platforms; familiarity with query optimization, partitioning, and data modeling.

• Strong skills in Python and/or JavaScript, focusing on production-quality code rather than just notebooks; experience with contemporary data and machine learning libraries.

• In-depth understanding of analytical methods including regression, clustering, time series, A/B testing, and classification; ability to discern when and why to apply each technique.

• Solid grasp of data architecture principles—understanding how data warehouses, lakes, and pipelines are structured; ability to organize data for both analytical and machine learning tasks.

• Proficient in AI-driven development tools such as Windsurf, Gemini, Claude, Cursor, or similar; you integrate AI assistants as an essential part of your workflow.

• Outstanding communication abilities—able to present complex technical work in a manner that influences decision-making.

• Self-directed and autonomous; you prioritize your own workload, troubleshoot independently, and deliver results without supervision.

• Inquisitive and ambitious; you are committed to continuous learning, building, and improvement.
