Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Transform business challenges across various domains into clearly defined data science initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives, scope, and established KPIs.

• Design, implement, and enhance sophisticated machine learning and optimization models to tackle intricate business issues.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including engineering, data, and business stakeholders, to ensure effective communication and seamless integration of data-driven solutions.

• Monitor the performance of models in production, adjusting algorithms and processes to respond to real-world data and changing business requirements.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for models, methodologies, and workflows to facilitate team knowledge-sharing.

• Conduct testing and validation of models to guarantee robustness, scalability, and reliability in production settings.

• Communicate data-driven insights, results, and product outcomes to stakeholders in a clear and actionable format.

• Keep abreast of the latest developments in machine learning and optimization, incorporating innovative techniques and tools into projects.

• Guide junior data scientists by offering technical support, reviewing their work, and promoting their professional growth.

• Uphold a commitment to ethical data science, ensuring that Hyatt’s models and solutions are crafted with fairness, transparency, and integrity.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data science, operations research, or a related field (2+ years for candidates holding a PhD).

• Proficiency in operations research modeling (LP, IP, MIP) and tools (CPLEX, Gurobi, etc.).

• Skilled in constructing machine learning models, including supervised, unsupervised, and deep learning techniques.

• Expertise in feature engineering, model assessment, and hyperparameter tuning.

• Proficient in Python, SQL, and Spark, along with a wide range of machine learning frameworks (Scikit-Learn, XGBoost, Tensorflow, PyTorch, MXNet, LLM, etc.).

• Experience in developing and deploying solutions in a Cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP) with large datasets.

• Familiarity with operating in an Agile Methodology environment.
