Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct research, design, implement, and validate intricate algorithms to analyze a variety of data sources, aiming to achieve specific outcomes by utilizing advanced statistical and predictive modeling concepts.

• Employ advanced analytics and data science methods to tackle complex analytical challenges using quantitative techniques, combining analytical, mathematical, and technical expertise.

• Develop analytical machine learning solutions that forecast and enhance customer operating experiences.

• Collaborate with domain specialists to validate model capabilities and work with IT resources to facilitate proper data flow and data model development using suitable tools and technology, rapid prototyping, and to inform the design of analytical products.

• Discover relationships and patterns within data by employing data exploration and visualization techniques using tools such as PowerBI, R Shiny, SAS JMP, and extract insights from multivariate data by applying multivariate data mining principles, small sample statistical inferential tests, and dimension reduction techniques to comprehend the underlying structure of the data and support sound conclusions during model development.

• Integrate current business intelligence or trend data to bolster actionable recommendations.

• Create applications for a Cloud-based environment and data extraction tools from diverse sources, leveraging experience with Big Data technologies including SQL query language, Java, Python, and C++.

• Gather business intelligence data from available industry reports, public information, field reports, or purchased resources.

• Identify and assess industry or geographic trends that have implications for business strategy.

• Produce standard or customized reports summarizing business, financial, or economic data for review by executives, managers, clients, and other stakeholders.

• Design business intelligence tools or systems, including the creation of associated databases, spreadsheets, or outputs.

• Conduct or coordinate tests to ensure that intelligence aligns with established needs.

• Analyze complex automotive and commercial vehicle business systems, industry requirements, and data regulations.

• Process and manage extensive data sets for vehicle and engine systems.

• Execute comprehensive Requirements Analysis to assess relationships and interdependencies between requirements based on their complexity and business value, in order to determine feasibility and prioritize effectively.

• Utilize Agile software development methodologies to oversee projects such as software development and advanced analytics product development, enhancing productivity and delivering valuable products to customers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree in Computer or Data Science, or a related field, accompanied by 3 years of experience in a Data Analyst or Scientist role, or a related position.

• Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Data Science, or a related field, along with 5 years of experience in a Data Analyst or Scientist role, or a related position will be accepted by the employer.

• Required experience includes: Statistical and predictive modeling concepts; Building analytical machine learning solutions; Data visualization techniques using tools such as PowerBI, R Shiny, and SAS JMP; Multivariate data mining; Development of applications for a Cloud-based environment; Familiarity with Big Data technologies such as SQL query language, Java, Python, and C++; Analysis of complex business systems, industry requirements, and data regulations; Requirements Analysis; and Agile software development methodologies.
