Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with the Human Centered Design lead to gather input from various forums, analyze data, visualize findings, and derive insights and forecasts that support the initiatives of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

• Assist in the product design process by providing data that aligns with and addresses the functional, social, and emotional behaviors of users.

• Develop predictive models, data visualizations, and analytical tools.

• Create AI solutions that automate workflows, build recommendation engines, and implement automated lead scoring systems.

• Deliver insights by integrating qualitative design research with exploratory data analysis.

• Investigate and analyze data sources to identify patterns and clusters for the CMS Procedure Price Lookup tool.

• Generate data visualizations that narrate stories, aiding stakeholders in understanding a problem area or gaining insights.

• Demonstrate problem-solving abilities while considering factors such as timeliness, effectiveness, and practicality.

• Employ critical thinking skills to perform objective analyses.

• Proficient in programming languages such as R, Python, and/or other languages utilized for data science tasks.

• Operate within an agile environment, delivering incremental product features in short iterations.

• Select features and optimize classifiers using machine learning methodologies.

• Conduct data mining employing cutting-edge techniques.

• Enhance data collection methods to incorporate pertinent information for analytical systems.

• Process, cleanse, and validate the integrity of data utilized for analysis.

• Execute ad-hoc analysis and clearly present the outcomes.

• Design and implement an automated anomaly detection system.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, and R.

• Familiarity with both unsupervised and supervised machine learning techniques and algorithms, including k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, among others.

• Experience with popular data science toolkits such as R, Weka, NumPy, and MatLab.

• Knowledge of data visualization tools.

• Understanding of statistical methods and concepts, including distributions, statistical testing, and regression analysis.

• Experience with Sparklyr.
