Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design and refine allocation and optimization algorithms for the distribution of products among distribution centers and retail locations.

• Enhance and sustain inventory simulators for scenario analysis, replenishment strategies, backtesting, and what-if evaluations.

• Transform prototypes developed in notebooks into production-ready applications utilizing large-scale data pipelines.

• Evaluate and convey business KPIs, including service levels, stockouts, inventory turnover, and fill rates.

• Work in conjunction with Data Engineering teams to manage and advance pipelines within AWS.

• Utilize statistics, probability, and Data Science methodologies to tackle complex business challenges.

• Provide technical contributions for solution enhancements and offer support to fellow data scientists when necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or a related discipline.

• Demonstrated experience in executing Data Science projects that have a tangible business impact.

• Proficient in Python, particularly with libraries such as NumPy and Pandas.

• Competency in SQL.

• Understanding of statistics and probability as they pertain to forecasting and service level assessments.

• Familiarity with PySpark and large-scale data processing pipelines.

• Experience with AWS services, particularly Glue and S3.

• Preferred: experience with Numba JIT, allocation and optimization algorithms, multi-echelon inventory simulations, Polars, Streamlit, Plotly, Terraform, CI/CD, AWS Step Functions, and mentoring or leading data scientists.
