Senior Data Protection Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Collaborating within the Global DPO Office to deliver practical and proportionate data protection guidance, oversight, and challenge throughout the bank.

• Evaluating DPIAs, offering DPO insights, analyzing data breaches, and aiding in the formulation of clear and well-documented decisions regarding regulatory reporting.

• Enhancing our relationship with regulators, refining processes related to regulatory engagement and complaints, and supervising data subject rights and contact point procedures.

• Spearheading projects within the Global DPO Office swiftly and representing the team in initiatives led by others that impact data protection compliance.

• Taking ownership of specific objectives and workstreams within the DPO Office maturity plan, collaborating with the DPO and broader team to create practical, scalable, and efficient processes, governance, and operational methods.

• Actively seeking opportunities to enhance our operations, including leveraging data, automation, AI, and other tools that enable us to accelerate without compromising standards.

• Occasionally standing in for the DPO, providing you with the chance to gain experience in DPO-level responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• You possess hands-on experience in core DPO functions, including DPIAs, data breaches, privacy notices, governance, reporting, and interactions with regulators.

• You are a practical, seasoned data protection expert with a solid understanding of UK GDPR, PECR, and ICO expectations, supported by a relevant qualification such as an IAPP certification or equivalent.

• You have a keen interest in AI and innovative technologies, and are currently utilizing or investigating practical applications of AI in your work.

• You are a self-motivated individual who thrives on tackling complex and ambiguous challenges, employing your initiative to work systematically, identify clear and proportionate solutions, and achieve measurable improvements.

• You comprehend what effective second-line oversight entails and can foster trusted relationships while still providing valuable advice, oversight, and challenge.

• You are a thoughtful communicator who enjoys collaborating with teams across the organization, sharing knowledge, influencing effectively, and addressing issues early with solutions in mind.
