This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, implement, configure, and maintain data protection solutions across endpoints, networks, cloud services, email systems, and collaboration platforms.
• Tailor and optimize data protection policies, rules, and classifiers.
• Establish and uphold data classification schemes and sensitivity labels.
• Adjust data protection policies, rules, and detection algorithms to reduce false positives.
• Define and refine data classification labels, settings, and control parameters.
• Capability to resolve sensitivity label issues with end users.
• Develop automated workflows to bolster data security and minimize manual intervention.
• Oversee and prioritize data protection alerts and incidents.
• Implement and manage DSPM controls, data discovery, posture assessments, and exposure remediation.
• Document system designs, configurations, and support processes, including but not limited to creating and maintaining conceptual, logical, and system diagrams, standard operating procedures, playbooks, and configuration guides.
• Ensure data protection policies comply with company and regulatory requirements, along with industry regulations (e.g., GLBA, CCPA).
• Collaborate closely with compliance and legal teams to uphold data protection requirements.
• Provide technical insights on emerging threats and data security trends.
• Assist with data flow mapping, risk assessments, and remediation efforts.
• Engage in architecture reviews and change management activities.
• Integrate data protection platforms with SIEM and IAM systems.
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• A minimum of five years of experience in DLP engineering.
• Robust, hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview (Data Loss Prevention and Information Protection) and Microsoft Defender.
• Experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud and/or Zscaler is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of encryption, data classification, network security, endpoint protection, and cloud security principles.
• Scripting (e.g., Python and PowerShell) and automation skills are beneficial.
• Solid grasp of regular expressions and regex-based pattern matching.
• Knowledge of data protection laws, compliance frameworks, and industry best practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based programs, and third-party software applications is necessary.
