This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Construct, enhance, and optimize data infrastructure to establish the most precise dataset of identities and their interconnections.
• Design and manage secure, scalable, and dependable data ingestion and ETL/ELT pipelines that fulfill product specifications.
• Create and sustain a data observability framework to guarantee our data adheres to stringent quality and freshness criteria.
• Improve the data storage layer and develop/maintain interfaces to facilitate scalable and rapid data access to our data repositories.
• Work collaboratively with product teams (squads) to support their data platform requirements for seamless delivery of current and new products.
• Participate in a call rotation for production-related issues, alongside the rest of the engineering team.
• Guide junior engineers and contribute to our evolving engineering best practices.
• Foster innovation by actively engaging in our hackathons and executing proof of concepts.
• Acquire functional subject matter expertise across various areas within the identity fraud domain.
• Over 5 years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proficient in Python or Golang along with related technologies and frameworks.
• Specialized in constructing and managing ETL/ELT pipelines at scale using distributed data processing technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, or similar tools.
• Practical experience with public cloud platforms like AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP.
• Comprehensive understanding of various database technologies, including but not limited to RDBMS (e.g., PostgreSQL), NoSQL (OpenSearch, vector DB), and columnar data stores, along with experience in writing efficient queries and optimization strategies.
• Experience in developing enterprise-grade, scalable, containerized data services and frameworks on Kubernetes or equivalent platforms.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code and DevOps practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, and a sense of humor (enjoy the journey).
• Self-organized with the capability to work independently and navigate through ambiguity.
• Experience in a Scrum/Agile development environment.
• Bonus points if you have:
• Experience working with Spark/EMR.
• Developed streaming applications.
• Familiarity with AWS technologies such as EKS, SQS/SNS, EMR, Redshift, S3, etc.
• Previous experience in a fintech startup.
