Senior Data Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the continuity and advancement of OrderYOYO’s contemporary data platform during a pivotal scaling stage.

• Spearhead the transition from outdated reporting and metric tools to a governed Microsoft Fabric platform.

• Ensure the reliability of business-critical BI and semantic models.

• Enhance the stability and monitoring of data pipelines.

• Facilitate CRM data integration.

• Offer senior technical guidance for data engineering delivery.

• Oversee hands-on Microsoft Fabric architecture involving lakehouse, warehouse, notebooks, semantic models, Git-based delivery, and production governance.

• Propel the migration from legacy reporting and metric tools to a governed Fabric semantic layer, including parity testing, stakeholder approval, and safe decommissioning.

• Manage and enhance data pipelines across APIs, files, events, and operational stores; implement robust orchestration, monitoring, alerting, data-quality checks, and incident response.

• Develop high-quality Power BI semantic models, DAX measures, and reusable metric definitions for leadership, finance, commercial, product, marketing, payments, and support reporting.

• Assist with CRM and operational data integrations, including outbound data feeds, identity mapping, schema mapping, reverse-ETL patterns, and monitoring.

• Establish reliable ingestion and modeling patterns for acquired businesses, ensuring future integrations are repeatable, auditable, and executed more quickly.

• Set data engineering standards, including definitions of ready/done, code reviews, release discipline, documentation, runbooks, and platform change governance.

• Mentor engineers and analysts, translating business-critical data needs into practical technical deliveries.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years in modern data warehousing, analytics engineering, or data platform engineering, preferably in a SaaS, marketplace, fintech, payments, e-commerce, or multi-region B2B2C setting.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric or extensive experience with Azure Synapse / Databricks, with the ability to quickly specialize in Fabric.

• Expertise in SQL/T-SQL and strong skills in Python or PySpark, with a proven history of building maintainable ELT/ETL pipelines and analytical data models.

• Strong background in Power BI and DAX, including semantic modeling, incremental refresh, performance tuning, model governance, and capacity/cost awareness.

• Experience in leading migrations from legacy to modern data platforms, encompassing metric parity, stakeholder validation, change control, and safe decommissioning.

• Proven experience in operating production data systems: monitoring, alert design, incident triage, root-cause analysis, data-quality checks, lineage, and runbooks.

• Proficient with Git-based data engineering workflows, including pull requests, release discipline, and standards for notebooks, pipelines, and semantic model changes.
