Senior Data Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the enterprise Snowflake data platform, encompassing administration, security, role-based access control (RBAC), warehouse management, cost optimization, monitoring, performance tuning, and ensuring operational reliability.

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines utilizing Informatica, SQL, Python, and cloud-native services.

• Establish the enterprise data architecture, integration standards, data modeling patterns, and engineering best practices.

• Lead the processes for data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and delivery aimed at enterprise analytics.

• Provide support for Finance processes, including month-end close, bookings, ARR, revenue, cost management, reconciliations, and executive reporting.

• Oversee production operations, which include monitoring, observability, incident response, root-cause analysis, disaster recovery planning, and platform resilience.

• Manage AWS services that support the data platform, such as S3, IAM, and Secrets Manager.

• Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Product, Sales, Customer Success, HR, and IT to convert business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

• Set up standards for data quality, validation, reconciliation, lineage, metadata, and governance.

• Create automation for deployments, operational support, testing, monitoring, and platform administration.

• Guide engineers, conduct architecture and code reviews, and offer technical leadership within the BI and Data Engineering teams.

• Produce and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, operational procedures, and knowledge-transfer materials.

• Assess emerging technologies and suggest enhancements for scalability, security, performance, and operational excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Business, Finance, or a related field.

• A Master’s degree is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• More than 8 years of experience in enterprise data engineering.

• Proficient in Snowflake, SQL, Informatica, Python, and contemporary cloud data platforms.

• Demonstrated experience in designing enterprise data warehouses, dimensional models, and scalable ELT architectures.

• Background in supporting financial reporting, reconciliations, and critical production data platforms.

• Experience in administering cloud platforms, particularly AWS services that support enterprise data engineering.

• Proven ability to lead technical architecture discussions, mentor engineers, and influence engineering standards.

• Advanced skills in SQL, Python, and data engineering methodologies.

• Expertise in Snowflake administration, security, optimization, and performance tuning.

• Familiarity with Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud / PowerCenter or similar integration technologies.

• Knowledge of AWS S3, IAM, Secrets Manager, and cloud-native integration patterns.

• Understanding of enterprise data modeling, governance, metadata, lineage, and data quality.

• Proficient in CI/CD, source control, monitoring, observability, automation, and DevOps practices.

• Strong skills in communication, collaboration, mentoring, and technical leadership.

• Capability to influence architectural and engineering decisions across matrixed teams without direct authority.

• Preferred: Experience with Power BI administration and semantic modeling.

• Preferred: Knowledge of financial systems and ERP data integration.

• Preferred: Experience with enterprise governance and AI-ready data platforms.

• Preferred: Experience in leading the modernization of enterprise data platforms.
