Senior Data Management Advisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Head of Practice to help shape the Data Management (DM) strategy for clients, ensuring that all tasks and activities align with the overall objectives and priorities of the practice.

• Take the lead in developing solutions for Data Management platforms, which incorporate various modern capabilities that address the needs of both data provisioning and consumption roles in the data ecosystem. This includes functionalities that simplify, streamline, and automate processes such as data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, discovery, MDM, data quality, data cataloging, exploration, and governance.

• Foster experimentation and proof of concepts (POCs) with tools while exploring the creation of accelerator solutions that align with the DM strategy and can be rapidly deployed for the benefit of clients.

• Collaborate with team members and clients as necessary to construct the solution landscape.

• Lead consulting engagements focused on Data Quality & Observability, metadata management, and data cataloging.

• Drive innovation by leveraging emerging technologies in the landscape, including AI/ML, GenAI, Automation, and leading Data & Cloud Platforms.

• Mentor junior team members, including those in extended teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in developing data architecture and software solutions for organizations.

• Strong proficiency in backend solution architecture and data engineering using tools such as Databricks, Spark, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, BigQuery, AWS Glue, and NoSQL databases.

• Demonstrated experience with agentic development tools like Cursor, Claude Code, Github Copilot, or similar to enhance work productivity.

• Experience in implementing self-service, metadata-driven data pipelines.

• Expertise in cloud platforms such as Azure and GCP is preferred.

• Highly desirable experience in 3 or more of the following areas:

• Implementation of data lakes, data lakehouses, data meshes, or data fabrics.

• Certification or experience with any Data catalog or MDM SaaS solution.

• Certification or experience with any Data Quality or Data Observability solution.

• Data modeling and advanced SQL skills.

• Experience with DEVOps/SecOps pipelines and CI/CD implementations.

• Development and testing of web applications using React or Angular Frontend, as well as REST or Graph APIs.

• Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, LangSmith, or similar agentic frameworks.

• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or other languages for delivering a variety of data services.

• Basic understanding or exposure to traditional analytics, including reporting/BI, is preferred.

• Practical knowledge of modern capabilities in AI and agentic frameworks, as well as emerging use cases in the data management ecosystem, is preferred.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, or statistics.

• Experience in the FMCG/CPG industry is highly desirable.
