Senior Data Governance and Data Engineering Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with both business and technical stakeholders to define, document, and validate the data requirements for external data ingestion.

• Ensure adherence to established data governance frameworks, policies, and standards concerning data quality, security, privacy, and integrity.

• Monitor and enforce governance processes across the data ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers.

• Advocate for data stewardship and promote best practices in data management throughout the organization.

• Assist governance initiatives related to metadata management, lineage, data ownership, and access controls.

• Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and standards such as GDPR and CCPA.

• Design and execute data ingestion processes for both structured and unstructured data sourced from multiple external origins.

• Support data integration workflows within the global data lake environment.

• Utilize Databricks capabilities to enhance data processing, orchestration, and transformation pipelines.

• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to troubleshoot, refine, and maintain ingestion workflows and data pipelines.

• Apply SQL and data modeling principles to facilitate scalable and efficient data solutions.

• Lead strategic and constructive discussions with clients and internal stakeholders.

• Serve as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, translating business requirements into governance and technical solutions.

• Contribute to discussions by suggesting process enhancements and governance best practices.

• Clearly and effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences, including executive stakeholders.

• Provide guidance, support, and training on data governance principles and processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science, Engineering, or related fields.

• Demonstrated experience in Data Governance initiatives and data management frameworks.

• Practical experience with Data Engineering concepts, particularly in data ingestion and integration processes.

• Familiarity with Databricks and modern data platforms.

• Strong knowledge of data quality, metadata management, data lineage, and governance controls.

• Solid understanding of SQL and data modeling concepts.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal.
