This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
β’ Oversee, mentor, and nurture a global team of data engineers while remaining engaged with architecture, design, code reviews, debugging, and delivery processes.
β’ Collaborate with Product Managers, Application Team, and Research Analysts to convert roadmap priorities, customer needs, and research requirements into scalable technical strategies.
β’ Develop and enhance scalable data pipelines, data models, QA systems, and customer-facing delivery mechanisms for Public Investor data offerings.
β’ Work alongside the Central Team, Feed Operations, Product Specialists, Client Success, and GTM teams to facilitate reliable delivery, incident resolution, client communication workflows, and operational enhancements.
β’ Utilize AI coding tools to expedite engineering execution, enhance documentation, bolster QA, support technical exploration, and increase team productivity.
β’ Foster clarity and momentum in uncertain environments by deconstructing complex data, research, and product challenges into actionable engineering initiatives.
β’ Over 8 years of professional experience in data engineering, data architecture, big data development, ETL engineering, or similar technical positions.
β’ More than 2 years of managerial experience, including mentoring, team leadership, and facilitating delivery.
β’ Proven experience managing, mentoring, or formally leading data engineers or technical teams in a hands-on player-coach role.
β’ Strong practical expertise with SQL, PySpark, Databricks, and Airflow or comparable workflow orchestration tools.
β’ Experience in building, maintaining, or scaling business-critical data systems, including pipelines, production datasets, data delivery systems, or customer-facing data products.
β’ Profound technical judgment across data modeling, distributed data systems, pipeline architecture, orchestration, data quality, observability, and production reliability.
β’ Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities, particularly with Product, Research, Operations, Client Success, Sales, and Engineering stakeholders.
