Senior Data Engineer – Streaming Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design and manage extensive ETL, streaming, and distributed data pipelines for vehicle telemetry and sensor data.

• Create scalable, cost-effective, high-throughput pipelines tailored for analytical, streaming, and AI workloads.

• Assess, implement, and integrate new data technologies to enhance scalability, performance, and observability.

• Guide engineers through mentorship, providing technical direction and promoting best practices in software and system design.

• Navigate ambiguous technical challenges towards clarity, delivering practical and scalable solutions.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a reliable and efficient data infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of experience in distributed data architectures.

• Proven experience in designing and managing large-scale data systems utilizing Spark or Databricks.

• Practical experience with Kubernetes and Kafka.

• Familiarity with Kafka Streams, Spark Streaming, or Apache Flink.

• Experience in event-driven architectures and data streaming.

• Comprehensive understanding of streaming and batch data processing paradigms, including data ingestion from edge devices.

• Experience with geospatial data, vehicle telemetry, or IoT-scale pipelines is advantageous.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence through clear technical reasoning and collaboration.

• Self-motivated, able to work independently, and lead projects without close supervision.

• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

• Basic knowledge of German.
