
Senior Data Engineer – Software Engineering Focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +1 more country.
• You will be involved in a project aimed at enhancing and advancing data models, ETL pipelines, and services crucial for our extensive multinational client in the financial sector.
• Responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of data pipelines.
• Create algorithms to convert data into actionable insights.
• Analyze data to pinpoint issues and develop complex functions and scripts.
• Focus on delivering solutions that adhere to standards, utilizing high-quality code with an emphasis on simplicity, performance, and maintainability.
• Investigate new data sources and incorporate them into the data product(s).
• Engage with CI/CD processes for data, along with data testing and monitoring.
• Develop prototypes and documentation that highlight the key aspects of the work.
• You possess a bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. in mathematics, statistics, physics, engineering, or other quantitative disciplines.
• You have demonstrated experience with Python programming and PySpark.
• Your background includes software development with proven experience in design patterns, object-oriented programming, and unit testing.
• You have substantial experience with a strongly typed programming language (e.g., Java).
• You have a proven track record working with CI/CD processes for data, as well as data testing and monitoring.
• You exhibit excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), able to articulate complex technical concepts and results clearly and in detail to non-technical audiences.
• You possess a strong understanding of data modeling and data architecture principles.
• You have knowledge of system design, data structures, algorithms, storage systems, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience working on agile projects using agile collaboration tools (e.g., Azure DevOps) is a plus.
• Experience in the insurance/reinsurance or financial industry is a plus.
• You are proficient in English communication (B2/C1 level).
