This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver technical leadership and overarching guidance for the National Background Investigation Services (NBIS) and Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) application development data pipelines.
• Define the data architecture strategy, explore and innovate alternative data processing methodologies, and assess data models.
• Connect legacy data repositories with contemporary, cloud-native data streams within AWS GovCloud.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional development teams, spearhead data transformation initiatives, and exercise significant independence in decision-making.
• Envision, test, and communicate alternative technical strategies for data architecture.
• Develop documentation for data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, schemas, and interface specifications.
• Offer technical oversight and strategic guidance for the creation of new or improved data source integrations.
• Lead the transition of legacy data frameworks into cloud-native data lakes and warehouses.
• Engage extensively with automated orchestration tools and secure data streaming techniques.
• Propel CI/CD automation and DevSecOps methodologies within the data tier.
• Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, product managers, and customer application specialists to craft high-performance data solutions.
• Utilize Jira, Confluence, and Agile SAFe v6.0 processes to convert high-level client requirements into actionable data user stories, technical roadmaps, and features.
• An active U.S. Secret clearance is mandatory.
• Candidates must be U.S. Citizens to comply with federal contract requirements.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline with 10–12 years of pertinent data engineering and integration experience, OR a Master’s degree in a related field with 8–10 years of relevant experience, OR a PhD in a related field with 5–7 years of relevant experience is required.
• Proven, extensive hands-on expertise in implementing cloud-native data solutions within AWS/AWS GovCloud, particularly using AWS Glue, AWS Athena, AWS Lambda, and Amazon S3.
• In-depth knowledge and extensive experience with all SQL database technologies.
• Expert-level proficiency in Git, data pipeline orchestration tools, popular CI/CD pipelines, Jira, and Confluence in an automated setting.
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently on highly complex data projects.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to explain intricate data visions to both engineering teams and senior stakeholders.
