This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• You will design, develop, and maintain data engineering solutions that prepare, integrate, and facilitate access to data for analytical and operational purposes across ASD.
• Your role will involve working with various data sources and formats, creating reusable NiFi components, and formulating integration strategies that support the broader analytical capabilities.
• You will plan and lead the creation of data engineering solutions while balancing both functional and non-functional requirements.
• You will create scalable and reusable NiFi templates and processors for data ingestion and transformation.
• Your responsibilities will include optimizing performance and ensuring high availability of data pipelines.
• You will integrate data from diverse sources and formats into centralized systems.
• You will engage in data modeling to facilitate efficient data storage, retrieval, and analytics.
• You will provide expert guidance on data integration and enhance the capabilities of others in implementing best integration practices.
• You will oversee the application of data standards, architectures, and security to ensure compliance and scalability.
• You will establish standards and guidelines concerning data protection, disaster recovery, and storage management.
• You will contribute to organizational policies and guidelines related to data engineering.
• You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data flow and integration strategies.
• You will lead the selection and development of data engineering methodologies, tools, and techniques.
• You will develop and advocate for continuous integration, deployment, and monitoring practices.
• Expert hands-on experience with Apache NiFi, demonstrating the ability to build scalable, reusable templates and processors for ingestion and transformation at an enterprise level.
• Proven data engineering capability at SFIA Level 6, guiding data engineering efforts for strategic, large-scale, and complex programs while establishing technical direction.
• Strong proficiency in data modeling and design at SFIA Level 5, including the management of enterprise data requirements and the establishment of modeling standards.
• Expertise in storage management at SFIA Level 5, focusing on data protection, disaster recovery, and the management of storage and backup systems to meet agreed service levels.
• A current PV security clearance and Australian citizenship are required to be considered for this role.
