This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
• Create, develop, and sustain scalable, distributed data pipelines and systems — from data ingestion through ELT to storage — that facilitate streaming and batch processing for real-time analytics, machine learning, and experimentation.
• Automate, validate, and strengthen data workflows to guarantee reliability at scale.
• Design logical and physical data models that adapt to changing business requirements.
• Develop and support features for machine learning models.
• Work collaboratively with product, analytics, and data science teams to transform data into valuable insights.
• Over 5 years of experience in managing high-volume data infrastructure.
• Extensive knowledge of a modern cloud data warehouse or lakehouse platform (preferably Databricks; also considering Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar) on a leading cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Skilled in Python and SQL, with proficiency in writing and enhancing complex queries.
• Practical experience with dbt.
• Familiarity with large-scale data processing utilizing Spark and/or Presto/Trino.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, partitioning strategies, storage formats, and optimization of analytical workloads.
• Practical experience using LLMs for code generation, analysis, and related tasks — including meticulous review of AI-generated output to ensure quality, standards, and testing, taking ownership of the results.
• Experience with contemporary data engineering tools — orchestration (Airflow, Databricks Workflows), CI/CD (GitHub Actions), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, DABs).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering (Computer, Electrical, or Software), or a related quantitative discipline.
