Senior Data Engineer – Governance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Capable of suggesting the most suitable architecture for constructing data pipelines based on specified challenges (e.g., Lambda architecture, Kappa architecture, ETL, scraping, etc.)

• In-depth expertise in cloud computing, able to recommend the most fitting infrastructure components for particular issues (e.g., Kubernetes, VMs, ECS, etc.)

• Proficient in identifying and recommending enhancements for performance issues at any level of the data architecture (e.g., Spark clusters, Kafka clusters, databases, etc.)

• Skilled at managing complex incidents, establishing monitoring systems, and offering solutions that tackle root causes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Data Architecture: Extensive experience in designing and implementing Data Lakes and Lakehouses (e.g., Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg, or Hudi)

• Governance and Quality: Familiarity with data catalog, lineage, and access-control tools (e.g., Unity Catalog, Amundsen, DataHub)

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Expertise in Terraform or CloudFormation for provisioning data resources

• Cloud Computing: Advanced knowledge of cloud providers such as AWS (S3, Glue, Lake Formation), Azure (ADLS, Synapse), or GCP (BigQuery, Dataplex)

• Storage and Performance: Understanding of partitioning, file compression (Parquet, Avro), and strategies for optimizing storage costs
