Senior Data Engineer, Finance

📋 Description

• Collaborate with finance, accounting, billing, and revenue teams to transform challenges into self-service, dependable, and scalable data solutions.

• Guide team members and promote engineering excellence throughout the organization.

• Oversee projects from conception to implementation with significant ownership and independence.

• Propose and lead organization-wide initiatives that shape the vision and roadmap for financial data.

• Manage essential data integration pipelines and models to ensure uniform, dependable, timely, and accurate financial reporting.

• Establish and standardize financial data models and infrastructure that support book closing, retailer invoicing, and financial reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional experience in a Data/Software Engineering position focused on data pipelines, particularly in financial data.

• In-depth knowledge of cloud-based data warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, and BigQuery.

• Proficient in Python, Airflow, Spark, Iceberg, and Delta Lake within production environments.

• Extensive experience in data modeling with complex financial datasets.

• Expert-level proficiency in SQL and dbt (Data Build Tool).

• Proven experience in developing intricate, high-quality ETL/ELT pipelines, including those for accounting and billing.

• Familiarity with concepts such as data immutability, auditability, slowly changing dimensions, or similar topics.

• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with cross-functional stakeholders in order to drive requirements and design shared datasets.

• Capability to balance urgency with delivering high-quality, pragmatic solutions.

• Experience collaborating with large codebases in cross-functional teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent professional experience (preferred).

• Familiarity with SOX-controlled data systems (preferred).
