Senior Data Engineer, Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete migration of data pipelines from Snowflake to AWS.

• Design and implement dimensional data models that comply with SOX for financial reporting and analytics.

• Develop and enhance Medallion Architecture data layers.

• Optimize SQL transformations and data processing workflows to improve cost-effectiveness and execution efficiency.

• Set engineering standards for testing, deployment, and documentation processes.

• Establish data quality frameworks, including validation, anomaly detection, and monitoring protocols.

• Guide architectural decisions across Strategic Finance and Customer Success data ecosystems.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to convert requirements into scalable, production-ready data solutions.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• 6+ years of experience in developing production-grade data platforms or modern data warehouse solutions.

• Proficient in SQL with expertise in complex query design, performance tuning, and large-scale data modeling.

• Strong experience in Python development for creating robust data pipelines and automation processes.

• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, including Snowflake and AWS services.

• Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and automated testing frameworks.

• Knowledge of data governance, observability, and monitoring best practices.

• Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.

• Familiarity with AWS Glue, S3, and CloudWatch services.

• Experience in designing financial data models within regulated environments.

• Familiarity with data lineage, cataloging tools, and enterprise data governance frameworks.

• Proven track record of leading cross-functional data initiatives that deliver measurable business outcomes.

• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
