This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
β’ Lead the design and advancement of our cloud-native data platform
β’ Concentrate on scalable batch processing, event-driven workflows, and seamless integration with backend microservices
β’ Engage across the entire data lifecycle β from ingestion to transformation to serving
β’ Design, construct, and take ownership of batch-oriented data pipelines and ETL workflows
β’ Partner with backend engineers to develop and enhance microservices that provide data capabilities through APIs
β’ Ensure data quality, lineage, and observability by implementing validation frameworks, monitoring, and alerting
β’ Over 8 years of experience in data engineering, backend engineering, or a related hybrid role
β’ Extensive hands-on experience with AWS, including AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions, Amazon S3, Amazon Athena, and Amazon Redshift
β’ Proven experience in building batch data pipelines and ETL systems at scale
β’ Proficient programming skills in Java (for microservices development) and Python (for data pipelines and Glue jobs)
β’ Experience with containerized services and orchestration through Amazon ECS
β’ Familiarity with designing or operating within microservices architectures
β’ Knowledge of event-driven systems (e.g., SQS, EventBridge)
β’ Strong SQL capabilities and experience in optimizing analytical queries
β’ Experience with distributed processing frameworks (e.g., Spark via Glue)
β’ In-depth understanding of data modeling (both analytical and operational), partitioning and storage strategies, and performance tuning across various data systems
β’ Work 100% remotely from your home office in Poland, Romania, or Portugal
β’ Collaborate closely with software engineers to develop data-intensive systems that drive analytics, reporting, and product features
