Senior Data Engineer – Enterprise B2B Marketplace

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Panama.

📋 Description

• Lead the foundational architecture, scaling strategies, and long-term vision for the enterprise data platform.

• Design and oversee the creation of highly scalable data pipelines using Airflow, dbt, and Python.

• Develop and maintain high-throughput integrations across essential modern data stack tools, including Fivetran, Redshift, and Sigma.

• Create and enhance serverless data services and ingestion layers utilizing AWS infrastructure (e.g., AWS Lambda).

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to establish reliable and high-performing data warehouse architectures and analytical datasets.

• Execute automated testing, implement rigorous monitoring frameworks, and employ tracing to maximize pipeline reliability and reduce operational downtime.

• Mentor data engineers and analysts on engineering best practices, driving continuous advancements in data governance and documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of demonstrated experience in designing and constructing production-grade data pipelines and large-scale analytics infrastructures.

• Strong, expert-level proficiency with dbt and Apache Airflow (or similar orchestration and transformation frameworks).

• Extensive knowledge of modern data warehouse architecture, particularly in scaling and optimizing platforms such as Amazon Redshift, as well as tools like Fivetran and Sigma.

• Advanced Python programming skills for creating complex pipelines, automation scripts, and serverless data processing.

• Expert-level SQL abilities with significant experience in modeling large, complex datasets for high-performance extraction.

• In-depth practical knowledge of AWS cloud ecosystems, particularly in deploying serverless computing architectures (e.g., Lambda).

• Proven ability to lead high-stakes technical initiatives, align diverse stakeholders, and modernize legacy workflows with considerable autonomy.
