Senior Data Engineer – Enterprise B2B Marketplace

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Dominican Republic.

📋 Description

• Data Platform Evolution: Lead the foundational architecture, scaling strategies, and long-term vision for the enterprise data platform.

• Pipeline Engineering: Design and oversee the creation of highly scalable data pipelines utilizing Airflow, dbt, and Python.

• Modern Stack Integration: Construct and sustain high-throughput integrations across essential modern data stack tools, including Fivetran, Redshift, and Sigma.

• Serverless Architecture: Create and enhance serverless data services and ingestion layers by leveraging AWS infrastructure (e.g., AWS Lambda).

• Advanced Data Modeling: Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to establish dependable, high-performance data warehouse architectures and analytical datasets.

• Observability & Reliability: Deploy automated testing, comprehensive monitoring frameworks, and tracing to ensure maximum pipeline reliability and reduce operational downtime.

• Technical Leadership & Governance: Guide data engineers and analysts in engineering best practices while promoting continuous enhancements in data governance and documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must-Have Technical Expectations & Core Skills:

• Professional Longevity: Over 8 years of demonstrated experience in designing and constructing production-grade data pipelines and large-scale analytics infrastructure.

• Transformation & Orchestration: Strong, expert-level experience with dbt and Apache Airflow (or equivalent orchestration and transformation frameworks).

• Data Warehousing & Ecosystems: Extensive background in modern data warehouse architecture, especially in scaling and optimizing platforms like Amazon Redshift, alongside tools like Fivetran and Sigma.

• Engineering Stack: Proficient Python programming skills for developing complex pipelines, automation scripts, and serverless data processing.

• Data Mastery: Advanced SQL expertise with significant experience in modeling large, intricate datasets for high-performance extraction.

• Cloud Infrastructure: Deep practical knowledge of AWS cloud ecosystems, particularly in deploying serverless computing architectures (e.g., Lambda).

• Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven ability to spearhead high-stakes technical projects, align diverse stakeholders, and modernize legacy workflows with a high degree of autonomy.
