This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Oversee the design, execution, and evaluation of data systems, spanning from architecture to deployment.
• Develop both batch and real-time data systems that cater to business requirements and essential products.
• Guarantee the quality, performance, and stability of data systems through thorough monitoring and quality assurance methodologies.
• Create and refine data models to effectively fulfill business and product specifications.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, such as product managers, data scientists, and engineers, to design scalable systems and promote data-driven decision-making.
• Foster strong relationships with backend, data science, and machine learning teams to ensure smooth integration of data systems.
• Contribute to long-term data strategies and impact data engineering practices throughout the organization.
• Mentor and support team members, encouraging best practices for data quality and governance.
• Enhance third-party data integrations, improving frameworks for data exchange, governance, and lineage.
• A minimum of 9 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering (or 6+ years with a PhD).
• Extensive experience in designing, constructing, and managing distributed data platforms (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Flink) at scale.
• Proficient in Java, Scala, or Python, coupled with strong capabilities in data processing and SQL querying.
• Demonstrated success in designing and optimizing both batch and real-time data pipelines.
• Strong collaborative abilities, with a knack for working alongside product managers, data scientists, and engineers.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, focusing on data quality, governance, and system reliability.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the proficiency to influence stakeholders and articulate complex technical concepts.
• Proven expertise in data modeling, warehousing, and experience with relational and columnar databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redshift, BigQuery).
• Familiarity with integrating machine learning models into data systems (preferred).
• Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with a background in guiding teams on best practices and technical strategies.
