Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for both structured and unstructured data.

• Construct and enhance data solutions utilizing Databricks, Apache Spark, and AWS.

• Produce high-quality, maintainable code by applying Python and adhering to data engineering best practices.

• Work collaboratively with product teams and business stakeholders to comprehend the significance of the data being built.

• Create and uphold data models, as well as data quality and monitoring processes.

• Enhance the performance, reliability, and scalability of existing data infrastructure.

• Diagnose data issues and implement solutions to guarantee data accuracy and availability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience, ideally within the FinTech sector.

• Extensive proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, and pipeline development.

• Strong SQL capabilities and experience managing large-scale datasets.

• Practical experience with effective utilization of AI coding platforms to boost productivity; this position requires more than just a vibe coder.

• Direct experience in developing and maintaining high-performance modern lakehouse architectures.

• A humble, resourceful, and results-driven attitude; you thrive in transitioning from 0 to 1.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities, capable of troubleshooting complex systems.

• Comfort in ambiguous situations; the capacity to independently formulate and test clear hypotheses and resolve issues without explicit guidance.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
