Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance our data platform: design, implement, and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines.

• Structure data for scalability and usability: create clean, well-documented, and sustainable data models.

• Take ownership of transformation workflows: build and maintain transformation layers using dbt.

• Enhance data storage and query performance: collaborate with ClickHouse to create efficient schemas.

• Increase platform reliability and operability: improve orchestration, observability, data quality, and failure recovery measures.

• Propel engineering standards: set best practices for data development, testing, deployment, versioning, and monitoring.

• Advocate for data governance: assist in defining and implementing data governance principles.

• Collaborate across teams: work closely with product managers, analysts, data consumers, and software engineers.

• Lead by example: contribute to architectural decisions, mentor fellow engineers, and elevate the technical standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Solid experience (4+ years) in data engineering.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.

• Interest in or experience with designing, integrating, or deploying AI agents/internal automation tools.

• Extensive hands-on proficiency in Python and SQL.

• Proven experience with workflow orchestration tools, such as Airflow.

• Strong background in designing and optimizing analytical data stores.

• Practical experience with dbt and contemporary ELT patterns.

• Experience with event-driven or streaming architectures, particularly using Kafka.

• Experience in deploying and managing data workloads within Kubernetes-based environments.

• Comprehensive knowledge of data modeling, specifically dimensional modeling and the Kimball methodology.

• Good understanding of data governance principles.
