This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.
• Constructing Data LakeHouse: As a Senior Data Engineer II, you will be responsible for the design, construction, and management of robust data lakehouse solutions using open table formats such as Apache Iceberg. Your primary objective will be to deliver a scalable and reliable data lakehouse with enhanced query performance suitable for a variety of analytical workloads and emerging data applications.
• Pipeline and Transformation: You will integrate with various source systems to build scalable data pipelines. Your role will also involve implementing effective data transformation logic for both batch and streaming data, while accommodating different data formats and structures.
• Data Modeling: You will assess business requirements and analyze source data to design, develop, and implement comprehensive data models and curated data products that enable reporting, analytics, and machine learning applications.
• Data Infrastructure: Your responsibilities will include developing and overseeing a scalable AWS cloud infrastructure for the data platform, utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to reliably support a variety of data workloads. You will also implement CI/CD pipelines to ensure automated, consistent, and scalable infrastructure deployments across all environments, following best practices and company standards.
• Monitoring and Maintenance: You will monitor data workloads for performance and errors, troubleshooting issues to uphold high standards of data quality, freshness, and compliance with defined SLAs.
• Collaboration: You will work closely with colleagues in Data Services and Data Science to advance the evolution of our data platform, focusing on delivering solutions that empower data users and meet stakeholder needs throughout the organization.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (Master's degree is advantageous).
• Over 4 years of hands-on engineering experience (in software or data), with a strong focus on at least 2 years in data-centric roles.
• Proven experience in implementing data lake and data warehousing solutions.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL as applied to data engineering tasks.
• In-depth knowledge of the AWS data ecosystem, including services such as S3, Glue Catalog, IAM, and Secrets Manager.
• Familiarity with Terraform and Kubernetes.
• A successful track record in building and operationalizing data pipelines.
• Experience with various data stores, especially relational databases.
