This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, create, document, test, and sustain essential data pipelines spanning various platforms and extensive internal and external data sources.
• Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and stakeholders to pinpoint and document requirements for pipeline and process automation.
• Execute ETL and ELT operations in alignment with enterprise data governance and security protocols.
• Establish data quality and governance procedures, including inspection, validation, processing, and anomaly detection.
• Supervise junior data engineers.
• Suggest and implement data models.
• Lead initiatives involving data collection and storage systems.
• Convert business requirements into technical solutions and develop functional requirements alongside colleagues.
• Offer guidance, mentoring, and training to peers.
• 5–7 years of pertinent experience is required.
• A BA/BS in a relevant field is necessary.
• Extensive familiarity with various development methodologies.
• Proven experience in constructing large, complex data pipelines across diverse platforms, data sources, and data structures.
• Proficient in working with relational databases such as SQL Server and Oracle, along with SQL scripting.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, including their ETL tools and techniques.
• Background in data sourcing, maintenance, updating, warehousing, cleansing, and transformation.
• Programming proficiency in Python, Spark, and similar languages.
• Advanced programming expertise with large-scale processing engines is essential.
• Comprehensive understanding of database security and compliance tools.
• Strong grasp of computer systems, integrations, databases, and data storage systems.
• Familiarity with agile data engineering concepts and processes.
• Ability to capture and document business processes and requirements, creating functional specifications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Capability to learn additional relevant programs or software systems utilized by the firm.
• Ability to collaborate with clients to convert business needs into technical solutions.
• Capacity to provide guidance, mentoring, and training for peers.
