Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable data pipelines and ELT/ETL workflows.

• Create and enhance data models and enterprise data architectures that facilitate reporting, analytics, machine learning, and operational applications.

• Utilize Snowflake and contemporary cloud data platforms to ingest, transform, and optimize substantial datasets.

• Collaborate with Business Intelligence and Data Science teams to provide reliable, production-ready datasets.

• Design and implement processes for data quality, validation, and monitoring.

• Address both batch and near real-time data integration needs.

• Develop APIs and data services that support both internal and customer-facing applications.

• Enhance data pipeline performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

• Document data architectures, pipeline processes, and engineering standards.

• Assess emerging technologies and suggest enhancements to the organization's data platform.

• Mentor team members and contribute to the establishment of engineering best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent fields.

• Proficient in SQL with extensive experience in modern cloud data platforms, particularly Snowflake.

• Strong expertise in Python and data engineering development methodologies.

• Experience in designing and maintaining large-scale ELT/ETL pipelines.

• Comprehensive understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and distributed data architectures.

• Experience in integrating structured and semi-structured data from various internal and external sources.

• Familiarity with data orchestration and transformation frameworks.

• Strong troubleshooting abilities and performance optimization skills.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Capacity to work independently while managing multiple projects.
