Senior Data Architect, Team Innovation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Act as AG's main technical contact during vendor-led delivery projects: assess architectural choices, verify implementation against AG specifications, and oversee knowledge transfer to build internal capabilities.

• Create and enhance cloud-based data pipelines, data lakes, data warehouses, and ETL frameworks utilizing cloud-native tools across leading platforms (Azure, AWS, or similar).

• Ensure that system integrations are scalable, secure, and comply with standards.

• Collaborate with Team Innovation and departmental leaders to set data standards, governance, and documentation practices.

• Apply version control, CI/CD, and data workflow automation methodologies.

• Design, construct, and automate data models, ingestion pipelines, and transformation workflows across source systems and Medallion layers.

• Establish monitoring processes for data quality, validation, and integrity across all platforms.

• Create and configure the external client portal data layer: implement Row-Level Security (RLS) in Power BI, manage client-specific semantic models, and facilitate embedded analytics delivery to external stakeholders.

• Oversee and manage costs associated with Azure cloud resources: optimize compute clusters, implement resource tagging, configure budget alerts, and analyze consumption trends.

• Diagnose and enhance performance across APIs, integrations, and data warehouse environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in insurance brokerage data environments.

• Previous experience with Applied Epic or similar insurance management and/or claims systems is preferred.

• Prior experience in construction industry data environments, project management systems, and/or risk and surety data is preferred.
