This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• Develop, implement, and maintain efficient, scalable data pipelines that facilitate AI, analytics, and operational reporting.
• Take ownership of and enhance the data warehouse architecture, ensuring it aligns with performance, flexibility, and governance requirements.
• Collaborate closely with AI Engineers and BI Engineers to support advanced modeling, data exploration, and dashboard reliability.
• Guarantee data integrity, availability, lineage, and observability throughout complex data pipelines.
• Establish and uphold best practices in data modeling, pipeline orchestration, and the reliability of data infrastructure.
• Advocate for the adoption of Infrastructure as Code and automation in managing data services.
• Actively resolve scaling challenges, performance issues, and architectural hurdles.
• Utilize AI tools to expedite data engineering tasks while serving as the quality gate for AI-generated pipeline code.
• Provide mentorship to junior Data Engineers and engage in team knowledge-sharing initiatives.
• A minimum of 6 years in Data Engineering or Software Engineering, including at least 2 years in a senior capacity.
• Extensive experience with ETL/ELT frameworks and data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt).
• Proficient in Python and advanced SQL capabilities.
• Practical experience with contemporary data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and data lake architectures.
• Strong comprehension of data modeling, data partitioning, schema design, and performance optimization.
• Solid understanding of cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Terraform).
• Experience in monitoring and ensuring the observability of data pipelines.
• Proven hands-on experience using AI tools to enhance data engineering in a production environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively in a remote work setting — ensuring clear written communication and dependable asynchronous collaboration.
