Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and sustain scalable systems for data ingestion, transformation, and storage, emphasizing testing and observability.

• Establish frameworks, tools, and automation to safely enhance development speed.

• Construct foundational end-to-end AI/ML workflows that encompass (1) source ingestion and preparation, (2) training and tuning, (3) experimentation and productionization, and (4) integration with downstream systems (EHR modules, micro-services, dashboards).

• Aid in iterative model development and oversee production operations and observability (accuracy, drift, bias, fairness, reproducibility).

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge-sharing, and mentoring among fellow engineers.

• Utilize AI tools as a fundamental aspect of daily responsibilities (drafting, research, iteration) to enhance efficiency, quality, and decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or ML engineering.

• Proficient in SQL and Python with a solid understanding of contemporary data engineering frameworks, infrastructure, and tools.

• Expertise in data ops best practices, monitoring, pipeline automation, and CI/CD.

• Familiarity with modern compute and ML frameworks/libraries (e.g., Spark, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).

• Capability to develop production APIs and services, including MCP servers that expose internal data/services to LLMs.

• A collaborative attitude, reliable execution, a commitment to self-reflection and improvement, and the humility to seek knowledge and learn.

• Comfort in using AI tools in daily tasks, with an openness to continually reassess and enhance work processes.

• A sense of curiosity and willingness to experiment with new tools and methods; previous experience with AI tools is a bonus.
