This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Design, develop, and manage data pipelines that handle terabytes of transactional data each day using Airflow/Composer and BigQuery.
• Take ownership of complete data models and transformations that support merchant analytics, operational reporting, and machine learning features.
• Construct and uphold embedded analytics infrastructure — the data products that our merchants directly engage with.
• Advance our data platform on GCP, incorporating BigQuery, Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, and CDC datastreams.
• Enhance data quality and reliability through testing, observability, alerting, and validation frameworks.
• Manage data lineage, metadata, and documentation, while preparing our data layer for agentic and LLM-powered use cases with semantic clarity and standardized metric definitions.
• Work collaboratively across product, ML, and GTM teams, contributing to technical direction through design documents and architectural decisions.
• Possess 5–8 years of experience in building and maintaining production data systems.
• Demonstrate strong SQL capabilities and proficiency in Python, with the adaptability to learn other programming languages as required. Comfortable with building and managing APIs.
• Have experience with contemporary data stacks on cloud platforms (GCP preferred, but AWS or Azure are transferable), including cloud data warehouses like BigQuery, ELT patterns, and orchestration using Airflow.
• Have a deep understanding of data modeling — including dimensional modeling, slowly changing dimensions, and incremental processing.
• Consider data quality, lineage, and observability as essential engineering priorities.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and feel at ease working in cross-functional teams.
• Already utilize AI and agentic coding tools as an integral part of your workflow for planning, code generation, debugging, and code reviews.
• Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
• Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
• Flexible working hours and remote work opportunities.
• Professional development and training programs.
• Generous paid time off and holiday leave.
