Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Lithuania.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable and resilient data pipelines and ETL processes to facilitate HR modernization.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to collect data requirements and convert them into efficient technical solutions.

• Lead the transition to cloud-based infrastructure and enhance ETL tools and processes.

• Engage with DevOps aspects of data engineering, including the setup, configuration, and maintenance of infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• Ensure data quality and governance by implementing frameworks that guarantee accuracy, consistency, and compliance.

• Advocate for best practices in data engineering and keep abreast of emerging technologies.

• Mentor junior team members.

• Contribute to the wider organizational digitalization and technical innovation efforts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in comprehensive data engineering: ETL, data integration, and data modeling.

• Proficient SQL skills, including performance optimization.

• Extensive experience with cloud platforms and native services (experience with AWS or Databricks is a plus).

• Strong programming abilities in data-centric languages (preferably Python, PySpark).

• Experience in maintaining and analyzing legacy systems for migration purposes.

• Knowledge of data design patterns (data lakehouse, data warehousing).

• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and Git version control.

• Willingness to learn or existing knowledge of IaC tools such as Terraform.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a sense of ownership, and adaptability.

• Proficient in English.

• Nice to have: experience with orchestration/scheduling tools, BI, and data visualization (e.g., Tableau).
