Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the design and architecture of our essential data pipelines and data platform components.

• Establish technical standards and best practices that enhance the capabilities of the entire data team.

• Mentor and assist junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, collaborative programming, and knowledge sharing.

• Take responsibility for the health, scalability, and reliability of our orchestration infrastructure.

• Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and leadership to define the roadmap for our data platform.

• Assess and implement new tools and technologies to maintain a modern and effective tech stack.

• Guarantee compliance and confidentiality of Personal Health Information across all data.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or another quantitative discipline, along with relevant work experience as a Senior Data Engineer.

• Over 6 years of experience as a Data Engineer, demonstrating senior-level ownership.

• Expert-level proficiency in SQL and Python, with extensive experience in Airflow or a similar orchestration tool.

• Proven success with dbt, modern data warehouse platforms, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience in mentoring engineers and contributing to team standards and culture.

• Ability to navigate uncertainty, make informed technical decisions, and drive projects to successful completion.

• Familiarity with AWS, Fivetran, and automated testing; Ruby experience is an advantage.

• Excellent communication skills — capable of aligning both technical and non-technical stakeholders on complex issues.
