This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Create and develop intricate Power BI semantic models along with scalable reporting solutions.

• Utilize advanced SQL (including Databricks SQL) and DAX to execute complex business logic.

• Design and oversee shared semantic models and datasets for analytics across various reporting solutions.

• Identify and address performance issues within Databricks and Power BI.

• Work in collaboration with data engineering teams to define and utilize curated Gold-layer datasets.

• Refactor current reports to transition to governed semantic models based on Databricks-supported data products.

• Establish dataset governance practices that encompass certification, documentation, and metric standardization.

• Create and validate data quality checks across Silver and Gold layers.

• Design and implement automated analytical workflows that integrate Power BI, Python, and the Power Platform.

• Develop forecasting, trend analysis, and statistical models that support advanced analytics scenarios.

• Conduct code reviews and provide technical mentorship to Associate developers.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or relevant experience.

• Advanced proficiency in SQL and DAX.

• 3–6 years of experience in Power BI development.

• Familiarity with modern data platforms such as Databricks and the ability to query data using Databricks SQL.

• Knowledge of Lakehouse architecture concepts, including Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers.

• Experience in integrating Databricks data with Power BI semantic models (both Import and DirectQuery).

• Understanding of distributed data processing concepts and performance considerations for large-scale datasets.

• Experience with Python or R for predictive analytics and statistical modeling.

• Proven capability in designing efficient and scalable datasets.

• Experience in optimizing DAX, model relationships, and refresh performance.

• Strong ownership mentality regarding solution quality and stability.
