Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Transform unclear product and operational workflows into structured systems that integrate data pipelines, backend services, and AI-driven logic.

• Create and develop intelligent AI systems that can reason, perform actions, and manage multi-step workflows (beyond simple LLM integrations).

• Build and maintain production-quality data pipelines that support both user-facing features and internal systems.

• Develop backend services primarily using TypeScript, while pragmatically employing Python as needed.

• Design APIs and system boundaries that facilitate modular and composable AI and data workflows.

• Collaborate with product and operations teams to convert real-world processes into AI-enhanced, scalable systems.

• Utilize AI-assisted development as a standard practice—from prototyping to debugging and system design.

• Enhance reliability, observability, and performance across various services.

• Take ownership of architectural decisions within your domain, balancing speed with long-term sustainability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience managing and operating data-intensive systems in a production environment.

• Extensive experience with data pipelines (ETL/ELT, event-driven, or workflow-based systems).

• Proficient in TypeScript (primary programming language); familiarity with other typed languages is advantageous.

• Generalist approach with strong instincts in data modeling and system design.

• Capability to progress from zero to one to scale with minimal direction.

• Experience in fintech, tax, or regulated environments is highly advantageous.

• Understanding of security and compliance issues (sensitive data, auditability, access controls) is a significant plus.
