Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain extensive data infrastructure and data processing systems.

• Create robust and scalable solutions that support data-driven applications, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives.

• Integrate data from various sources, including databases, APIs, and streaming platforms.

• Enhance data processing and query performance by refining data pipelines, optimizing database configurations, and improving partitioning.

• Establish and uphold data quality checks and validation processes.

• Implement data security protocols, including encryption, access controls, and compliance measures.

• Collaborate effectively with data scientists, analysts, software engineers, and business stakeholders.

• Develop data warehouses, data lakes, and data pipelines to support business needs.

• Set up auditing, monitoring, and data governance frameworks.

• Monitor and respond to bottlenecks, latency issues, and failures; troubleshoot problems, identify root causes, and implement solutions.

• Investigate new frameworks, platforms, and cloud services for potential integration.

• Utilize DevSecOps practices in all relevant projects.

• Solid business intelligence skills.

• Bachelor's degree is preferred, along with specialized training or relevant professional qualifications.
