Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.

📋 Description

• Design and create scalable and dependable data pipelines, ensuring high availability and performance standards.

• Build complex data structures that meet both functional and non-functional business specifications.

• Identify, strategize, and execute internal process improvements, including the automation of manual tasks, optimization of data delivery, and redesign of infrastructure for enhanced scalability.

• Apply best practices for data storage, processing, and retrieval methodologies.

• Collaborate with various stakeholders, including executives, data scientists, and product managers, to comprehend data needs and implement data-driven solutions.

• Optimize and adjust data workflows to maximize performance and efficiency levels.

• Ensure data security and adhere to data privacy regulations.

• Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in data engineering and analytics.

• Mentor and support junior data engineers within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience as a data engineer or in a comparable position.

• Proficient programming skills in languages such as Python, Scala, or Java.

• Experience in designing and implementing data pipelines using tools like Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, or AWS Glue.

• Strong proficiency in SQL and familiarity with database technologies like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.

• Knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly Azure.

• Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and concepts related to data warehousing.

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.

• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to work efficiently within cross-functional teams.

• Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to work.
