Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Formulate a long-term technical vision for the team.

• Craft a technical strategy aimed at developing components, frameworks, and libraries to create seamless applications for our customers.

• Engage in hands-on development of scalable components and applications.

• Provide mentorship to engineers, including both senior and junior members of the team.

• Enhance and maintain standards for engineering excellence and operational effectiveness.

• Generate and promote thorough documentation for code, libraries, and components to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience in data engineering or related fields.

• Proficient experience in building and maintaining production data pipelines using Python.

• Practical experience integrating data from external APIs.

• Familiarity with operating batch ELT pipelines and working with data warehouses.

• Advanced SQL abilities and experience in modeling data for analytics and reporting use cases.

• Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow.

• Knowledge of dbt or similar transformation tools, along with a willingness to collaborate closely with analytics teams.

• Proven ownership of production systems, including monitoring, debugging, and incident response.

• Ability to navigate ambiguous environments and make pragmatic technical decisions.

• Experience in a cloud environment such as GCP (or equivalent).

• Understanding of CI/CD practices and source control (e.g., GitHub).

• Experience in collaborative, iterative development settings.

• Additional preferred experience includes:

• Designing or migrating pipelines towards incremental loading patterns.

• Utilizing infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform).

• Experience with data quality tools, testing, or observability.

• Exposure to BI tools or supporting analytics workflows.

• Ability to quickly learn and adopt new tools or technologies.
