This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Analyze and convert high-level customer requirements into comprehensive designs for intricate business challenges.
• Create solutions that align with long-term service or product strategies and customer insights.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and oversee data and information architecture roadmaps.
• Define data solutions and write code across various products or services.
• Influence or initiate architectural modifications.
• Construct and sustain test infrastructure utilizing design patterns and available technologies.
• Enhance, refactor, and reuse code across codebases to boost performance and maintainability.
• Lead code reviews and address root causes of issues.
• Identify and resolve performance and availability challenges in production across product areas.
• Create and maintain architectural documentation.
• Design secure products and services while improving security in existing applications.
• Estimate project workload, time, resources, and skill requirements across product areas.
• Identify innovative technologies and formulate proposed solution strategies.
• Mentor and guide engineers through design and code evaluations.
• Define the engineering lifecycle and practices for the team and related teams.
• Foster collaboration among multiple teams.
• Anticipate business needs and present options to leadership, stakeholders, and product managers.
• Over 6 years of experience in developing and implementing commercial software across various platforms and programming languages.
• Proven experience in owning and delivering projects with increasing technical complexity.
• Experience working with large-scale datasets in a commercial setting.
• Expertise in building and modeling data within both relational and non-relational storage technologies.
• Proficient in schema design, stored procedure development, performance, and optimization techniques.
• Experience in designing and implementing data acquisition, data curation, and data analysis processes.
• Familiarity with unit, integration, and acceptance testing.
• Experience using version control systems such as GIT, GitHub, and TFS.
• Knowledge of HTTP and REST architecture.
• Understanding of CI/CD practices.
• Experience orchestrating data transformation via cloud-native platforms like Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Familiarity with data streaming architectures and frameworks such as Kafka and ESB.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IS, MIS, or another technology degree from an accredited college or university, or at least 4 years of equivalent work experience alongside a high school diploma/GED.
• Preferred: Experience in large-scale open-source or inner-source software development.
• Preferred: Experience in system integration or global projects.
• Preferred: Experience with machine learning models and data science solutions.
• Preferred: Expertise in modern development languages like .NET Core, C#, and Java.
• Preferred: Experience with thin-client development such as HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and JS frameworks.
• Strong communication skills with a solid customer focus.
• Effective collaboration skills and the ability to establish technical partnerships across teams.
• Capability to understand technical domains and articulate complex technical and business concepts.
• Experience in leading high-performing teams and cultivating engineering talent, either directly or indirectly.
