This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +7 more states.
• Act as the authority on ETL and database solutions, partnering with business stakeholders and IT teams to outline requirements, gather data, and implement enhanced data solutions.
• Architect, implement, and sustain data systems in Snowflake to guarantee data scalability and accessibility.
• Manage and implement data lakes and data warehouses, crafting pipelines and data models to facilitate effective analytics and reporting.
• Create and document strategies for overseeing data transfer processes, including secure file transfers (SFTP), batch data processing, and real-time streaming.
• Construct and refine ETL pipelines for data extraction, transformation, and loading into operational databases or analytical platforms.
• Integrate and provide support for data visualization tools such as Power BI, Sisense, Google Looker, Tableau, or similar platforms to deliver actionable insights for business stakeholders.
• Design and maintain optimized data models for dashboards and reporting, ensuring compatibility with visualization tools.
• Strategize, coordinate, and execute database migrations, upgrades, and patches with minimal downtime.
• Define and uphold database governance policies, including data integrity, security, and adherence to regulatory standards.
• Investigate and resolve database performance challenges by fine-tuning queries, indexes, and schema designs.
• Collaborate with vendors to assess, select, and implement database tools, services, and technologies; remain updated on product roadmaps and industry developments.
• Formulate disaster recovery and high-availability solutions, including replication, clustering, and failover.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Over 6 years of experience in data engineering, ETL, and database management, with a preference for experience in cloud-based databases and financial services.
• Proficient in Database Administration (DBA), managing and optimizing databases for performance and security.
• More than 3 years of experience in designing and constructing data lakes and data warehouses using platforms such as Azure Fabrik, Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, or Google BigQuery.
• At least 2 years of experience utilizing data visualization tools like Power BI, Sisense, Google Looker, Tableau, or similar platforms.
• Experience in managing data transfers and file processes, including SFTP, secure data pipelines, and real-time or batch data movement.
• Proven experience in proactively identifying, addressing, and monitoring data quality issues, while adhering to established data quality standards.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders, and to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
