This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Design, construct, and maintain scalable data pipelines and lakehouse architectures utilizing Databricks.
• Implement and oversee data governance, access control, and lineage management through Unity Catalog.
• Create and develop semantic data models to depict intricate business domains and their interrelations.
• Build and sustain knowledge graphs adhering to RDF (Resource Description Framework) and OWL (Web Ontology Language) standards.
• Design and deploy graph database solutions using Neo4j to facilitate relationship-driven data applications.
• Develop ontologies and taxonomies to ensure consistent data interpretation across various systems.
• Convert business processes and data relationships into architecture diagrams utilizing Visio and Miro.
• Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure data models align with organizational requirements.
• Optimize data pipelines for enhanced performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Guarantee data quality, consistency, and integrity across the ingestion, transformation, and storage layers.
• Assist in the integration of semantic and graph-based data models with downstream analytics and AI/ML applications.
• Document data architecture, pipelines, and semantic models to ensure cross-team visibility and maintainability.
• Over 6 years of experience in data engineering, with a solid foundation in developing production-grade data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks for data processing, transformation, and analytical workloads.
• Background in implementing data governance and cataloging via Unity Catalog.
• Practical knowledge of RDF and OWL for knowledge representation and ontology creation.
• Direct experience with Neo4j or other graph database technologies.
• Experience in designing semantic models and a solid understanding of graph theory concepts.
• Proficient in diagramming and process mapping tools like Visio and Miro.
• Strong SQL skills along with experience in Python or Scala for data engineering tasks.
• Thorough understanding of data modeling principles (relational, dimensional, and graph-based).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of translating complex data relationships into clear architectural designs.
• Outstanding communication skills, with the capability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
