Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Pipeline & Workflow Orchestration. Create and manage orchestrated workflows, ensuring clear execution semantics, observability, and resilience.

• Data Modeling & Transformation. Develop and uphold scalable transformation layers utilizing dbt, BigQuery, Spark, Ray, or similar tools, facilitating reliable downstream consumption.

• Data Quality & Platform Standards. Establish and uphold standards related to data quality, contracts, schema validation, lineage, and metadata.

• Handling Real-World Data Complexity. Engage with incomplete, inconsistent, and evolving data sources. Address schema drift, edge cases, and operational failures with sound engineering judgment.

• Cloud & Infrastructure Integration. Function within cloud-native environments (GCP/AWS), collaborating with storage, messaging (e.g., Pub/Sub), and infrastructure as code.

• Platform Improvement & Simplification. Continuously enhance systems by boosting observability, minimizing operational risk, and streamlining architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience - A minimum of 5 years in building and operating data systems in production settings.

• Technical Proficiency - Proficient in Python and SQL, with a background in data pipelines, orchestration, and warehouse modeling.

• Operational Mindset - Proven experience in managing data quality, observability, failure modes, and long-running production workflows.

• Collaboration - Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across engineering, product, and business teams.
