Senior Data Engineer, AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Analyze and design concrete customer use cases for utilizing data and AI-driven IT solutions.

• Develop solution concepts that are practical to implement — covering technical, functional, and architectural aspects.

• Create Proofs of Concept (PoC), Minimum Viable Products (MVP), and applications ready for production on both cloud and on-premise environments.

• Utilize modern LLM technologies, including embeddings, re-ranking, prompting, fine-tuning, retrieval techniques, and other methods that enhance customer value.

• Collaborate closely with our architects, consultants, and clients to seamlessly integrate solutions into existing system landscapes.

• Assist in the ongoing development of our product lines (QI-Box, QI-Flow) and our standardized implementation processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in AI, Data Science, Machine Learning, or Data Engineering.

• Strong proficiency in Python and popular ML/DL frameworks (such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).

• Extensive experience with LLMs, RAG systems, embeddings, and evaluation techniques.

• Comfortable managing relational databases, SQL, and vector databases.

• Experience in constructing robust data pipelines along with a foundational knowledge of MLOps.

• Proficient in working with both structured data (e.g., time series) and unstructured data (such as texts, PDFs, and documents).

• Familiarity with cloud or on-premise environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Comprehension of containerized deployments, API design, and integration processes.

• Organized and self-directed working style.

• Clear communication skills, team-oriented mindset, and a passion for interdisciplinary collaboration.

• Ability to convey complex technical concepts to customers in a clear and understandable manner.
