Senior Data Communications Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Deliver advanced support for the maintenance, planning, and implementation of network systems across enterprise WAN environments.

• Install, configure, and sustain network hardware such as Cisco ISR, Nexus, Catalyst, ASA, and wireless controllers.

• Ensure the stability and performance of distributed LAN, MAN, and WAN environments.

• Facilitate connectivity through various last-mile technologies, including satellite and network services.

• Implement and enhance routing, switching, wireless, and firewall configurations.

• Assist in the deployment and optimization of network monitoring platforms, including Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA, ACS, ISE, and LiveAction.

• Support and maintain network security solutions like Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto, Zscaler, and BlueCoat.

• Conduct advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for network-related issues.

• Provide Tier 3 support for escalated incidents throughout the enterprise.

• Offer mentorship and guidance to technical personnel and regional technicians.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation for network configurations and processes.

• Contribute to the modernization and optimization of enterprise network environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

• Demonstrated experience in configuring, deploying, and managing large enterprise network environments.

• Practical experience with Cisco networking hardware, including ISR, Nexus, Catalyst, ASA, and wireless platforms.

• Strong skills in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.

• Experience working within distributed LAN, MAN, and WAN environments.

• Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as Cisco Prime, DNA, ISE, and LiveAction.

• Experience with content filtering and security solutions like Zscaler, Palo Alto, and BlueCoat.

• Capability to work independently and thrive in high-pressure situations.

• Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills.

• Proven leadership and mentoring experience is considered an asset.
