⛳️ Requirements

• Senior Data Architect or Senior Analytics Engineer with advanced proficiency in data platforms such as Databricks and BigQuery, in addition to experience with linked PostgreSQL servers and MongoDB.

• Business fluency, capable of translating executive inquiries — such as MRR, churn cohorts, and customer funnels — into reliable, rapid, self-service data products. An MBA or 2+ years in a BizOps-related role, combined with an engineering background, is a significant advantage; we seek someone who comprehends the importance of metrics, not just their computation.

• Experience designing at least one semantic layer from the ground up, rather than inheriting or patching an existing one. The candidate must be able to articulate their past designs, clarify grain choices, and justify trade-offs between fact/dim stars and wide denormalized marts. During the interview, we may present a scenario and anticipate a concrete proposal with reasoning for before and after.

• A perfectionist in query optimization. Understands when to rewrite SQL versus reshape the data model, and perceives any BI report exceeding 25 seconds as a personal challenge.

• Data accuracy is an essential principle. Treats data accuracy as the foundational element of architecture, rather than a post-QA consideration. Establishes reconciliation against source-of-truth systems, schema contracts, referential-integrity tests, cardinality assertions, and daily drift checks from day one. Believes that a fast dashboard displaying incorrect data is more detrimental than a slow one. During the interview, we expect specific examples of accuracy incidents they identified (or overlooked and learned from) and the controls they implemented to prevent future occurrences.

• Experience with custom AI agents for non-technical users. Familiarity with deploying LLM-based agents — including text-to-SQL and semantic-layer-backed Q&A. A bonus for previous work with tool-calling frameworks, safeguards against hallucinated metrics, and evaluations for answer quality.
