Senior Analytics Engineer – AI, Business Intelligence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of comprehensive analytics initiatives, from stakeholder engagement to implementation, validation, automation, and business adoption.

• Collaborate with business, BI, data, and technical stakeholders to clarify goals, establish success metrics, and transform vague requests into actionable analytics tasks.

• Design, write, enhance, and validate sophisticated SQL queries on large-scale enterprise datasets.

• Create scalable analytics solutions that facilitate operational decision-making, product insights, root-cause analysis, and routine business reporting.

• Utilize AI and automation to enhance BI workflows, including natural language-to-SQL, BI copilots, automated insight generation, anomaly/root-cause workflows, and data-quality monitoring.

• Construct, assess, test, and refine AI-assisted analytics workflows to ensure precision, explainability, consistency, and business trust.

• Spot opportunities to minimize manual reporting efforts, streamline stakeholder requests, enhance analytical throughput, and boost BI team productivity.

• Confirm analytical outputs through thorough data-quality checks, metric reconciliation, source-of-truth validation, and stakeholder confirmation.

• Work in tandem with BI engineers, data engineers, product analysts, and business stakeholders to synchronize data models, metric definitions, and reporting logic.

• Develop comprehensive documentation for analytics logic, SQL assumptions, data lineage, AI workflow behaviors, known limitations, and stakeholder-facing outputs.

• Operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment with limited onboarding support while proactively identifying risks, dependencies, blockers, and necessary decisions.

• Clearly communicate insights, trade-offs, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Facilitate the adoption of analytics and AI-enabled BI solutions by training stakeholders, collecting feedback, measuring usage, and iterating on workflows.

• Assist in defining reusable patterns for agentic BI delivery, including evaluation methods, validation checklists, governance practices, and automation playbooks.

• Mentor analysts or engineers in advanced SQL, AI-assisted analytics workflows, business framing, and complete project ownership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional experience in business intelligence, analytics engineering, data analytics, product analytics, data engineering, or related fields.

• Expertise in advanced SQL, including experience with large, complex, enterprise-scale datasets.

• Experience analyzing substantial datasets, ideally involving hundreds of millions of rows or similarly intricate data environments.

• Proven ability to manage analytics projects from start to finish, including stakeholder requirements, problem framing, implementation, validation, delivery, and adoption.

• Hands-on experience applying AI, automation, or agentic workflows to analytics, reporting, data quality, or decision-support scenarios.

• Familiarity with one or more AI-enabled BI patterns such as natural language-to-SQL, BI copilots, automated insight generation, root-cause analysis, anomaly detection, data-quality monitoring, or analytics workflow automation.

• Strong grasp of data validation, metric reconciliation, source-of-truth alignment, and data-quality practices.

• Ability to work independently, quickly adapt, and achieve results without intensive day-to-day management oversight.

• Excellent stakeholder management skills, including the capacity to clarify ambiguous requests, challenge assumptions, and guide business users toward improved analytical inquiries.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Economics, or equivalent practical experience.
