Senior Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Assist in a large-scale initiative for the integration and modernization of the Justice Information Management System (JIMS) 3.0 data.

• Merge multiple reporting data marts into a unified Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) along with supporting data marts and views.

• Conduct data architecture and perform data profiling activities.

• Create data models and develop ETL processes.

• Tackle issues related to data quality and validate reporting.

• Contribute to enterprise data governance efforts.

⛳️ Requirements

• A post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Management, or a related field.

• Over 5 years of experience in providing architecture risk assessments and architecture-related services.

• More than 2 years of experience in public-sector environments, with a solid understanding of public-sector policies and practices.

• At least 5 years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and enterprise data solutions.

• Over 5 years of experience in developing with data modeling/architecture tools such as SAP/Sybase PowerDesigner or similar.

• Strong background in data warehousing, ETL, data marts, facts, dimensions, and data modeling.

• Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).

• Proficient in SQL and relational database technologies.

• Familiarity with Power BI or comparable business intelligence/reporting tools.

• Solid understanding of information management, data governance, data quality, and cybersecurity policies.

• Exceptional communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
